FAQs
What do I need to bring to the lesson?
Swimwear, a towel & goggles (optional for beginners). For swimmers 3yrs and under, they MUST follow the double nappy rule.
What is the double nappy rule?
To avoid any accidents in the pool, all children 3yrs and under MUST wear a disposable swim nappy as well as a Happy Nappy over the top to ensure no leaks. If there is a toilet accident in the pool then it means we have to close and to put it lightly, it doesn't make us happy! So please stick to the rule or we won't allow your child to enter the pool. We sell them online to click and collect or you can buy them in the centre.
What time shall I arrive for my lesson?
Whilst Covid restrictions are in place, please arrive just 5 mins before your lesson and make sure you are 'swim ready' with your swimwear underneath as the changing rooms aren't available on entry.
Where should I park?
We have parking to the front and rear of the building. Please don't leave your car in the car park and visit other businesses as you are likely to receive a £100 fine if you aren't in the centre when parked.
When will my child be able to swim?
How long is a piece of string?! We want them to swim more than you do so rest assured we will be doing everything we can and have plenty of experience to make sure they are independent ASAP. But practise does make a big difference so if you can book onto our family swims or crash courses, we always notice the difference!
Do I need to get into the pool with my child?
For our GSA Tots lessons (under 3's) an adult will need to be in the water with the child. From Penguins (3yrs+) and upwards, no adults are needed in the water, the instructor will be in the pool with the class if needed and you can sit back and relax watching from the cafe area.
For under 3's where the adult has to get in too, do I need to be able to swim myself?
Not at all! You will be able to keep your feet firmly on the ground so you just need to be comfortable in the pool so you can hold and support your little one.
Should my child eat before the lesson?
We advise not eating for the hour before children enter the pool.
How deep and how warm is the pool?
Our pool is 1.25m depth throughout and maintained at 31 degrees.
